I'm sure you all are wondering why the heck our subdivision has not been plowed by now. Apparently we are not the only ones with this dilemma, obviously. I called ACHD to get some information on how to go about hiring a professional snow removal service to take care of this for us and you can't talk to a person. I'm sure they are super swamped with tens of thousands of other people having the same questions. What they do provide is an automated response and the last one I heard was that they have worked their priority down to the subdivisions finally, but if you leave your car on the street it will be snowed in. The other thing they said was when they plow it will leave a snow bank in front of everyone's driveway and each and every household is responsible for clearing their driveway so they can get in and out. They do not want you throwing the snow back into the street, so what I've been doing is filling up the front yard. The reason I called ACHD in the first place is because I heard you have to get a licensed, bonded professional to get a permit from them to do the job and I wanted to verify that fact. I also heard that they are waiving that permit,so I called a bunch of professionals to no avail. I guess they are all super busy. Then I was thinking about what one of the neighbors said he was thinking about doing, and that is renting a bobcat to do the job ourselves. The problem with that is if there is any damage to man-holes, curbs, or anything then the person doing it is responsible. The treasurer and I discussed the situation yesterday and came to the conclusion that we let nature take it's course and hope for some melting relief. If anyone has a good contact on a professional that is willing to do the work in the next few days, I think the HOA would pay for it for sure, and the cost will more than likely be in the $600 range. I know a lot of you are getting stuck and it is very frustrating, but hang in there and if we don't get something figured out nature will do it's job hopefully soon. Sincerely, Roc Treese (HOA president)
